In this picture, Gen Van 8911 + 8945 + 8947 remain stored at Adelaide PWD waiting to be transferred to Whitehead RPSI.
The Gatwick Mk2f set on Northern Ireland Railways has been stored at several locations over the past eight years after their last passenger service took place in June 2009. Previous to this, they were stored briefly during a period between 2005 & 2006. At present, the entire fleet of 8 carriages & 1 Generator van has been passed onto the Railway Preservation Society of Ireland for preservation and future use on the mainline.
Earlier in the year, the ''Lisburn set'' (4+Gen Van) was transferred to Adelaide. At Adelaide, the set was split and 2 carriages went onto Whitehead the following week for storage, while the 2+Gen van seen in the picture remained at the PWD sidings at Adelaide. These are planned to be moved to Whitehead RPSI in the near future.
The remaining 4 Gatwick coaches remain stored at Dundalk in the carriage sidings. (8941+8942+8943+8944) were transferred there in July 2015 to allow work to take place at Whitehead.
